RECORD SLEEVE

(For read-along record)

Record Sleeve Design

Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Skills: Typography, Package Design, Logo Design

This design was done as part of a workshop for film and tv. The workshop’s purpose was to teach how to design graphics for film and tv (including how to make the props with the graphics applied)

Objective: Design a 12”x12” record cover with front & back as well as a record company logo.

Logo Design

For the finalized logo design (left most image), I used the three logos seen at the furthest right for inspiration. I decided to use the record to spotlight the kid, putting the focus on him as he reads. The designing process took place mainly in Illustrator, as a result, the logo is a vector and can be scaled as needed.

Front Cover Design

I purposely choose Black Beauty as a subject for the record as it is in the public domain, thus would have a higher chance of acquiring clearance to use. Also, Black Beauty fits in with the kind of books on record that were released in the mid-1900s.
